Surgical Lighting

Lighting is fundamental for safe surgery, but it is so often overlooked. Our reliable, LED operating lights with battery backups ensure safe surgery can occur regardless of the hospital's electrical supply.

At Medical Aid International (MAI), we understand that surgical lighting varies significantly across LMIC healthcare facilities, with many sites being poorly equipped in this vital area. The advent of LED operating lights has dramatically improved the situation, offering greater reliability, battery backup options, and lighter designs that simplify installation.

Both ceiling-mounted and mobile LED lights are now available, providing flexibility for different operating room layouts, locations, and budgets. These solutions enable safe surgery even in smaller or resource-limited spaces.

Our Approach at Medical Aid International:

  • All lights are CE marked: ensuring safety, reliability, and compliance with international standards.

  • Battery backup as standard: capable of lasting over ten hours during power outages, guaranteeing uninterrupted surgical procedures.

  • Ceiling-mounted options: typically supplied as single units, with twin-unit configurations available where required.

  • Mobile LED lights: ideal for situations where multiple procedures are taking place simultaneously or when only one ceiling light is available. These lights operate independently of mains electricity thanks to their battery backup and can be easily moved to other areas of the hospital, providing maximum flexibility and utility.

Our LED lighting solutions are designed to meet the challenges of resource-limited environments while ensuring safe, reliable, and high-quality surgical care.

Examination and minor procedure lights are also available.
