About Emily

Emily joined Medical Aid International after gaining her MSc in Global Health and Surgery from King’s College London. Prior to her pivot into global health, Emily worked as a biomedical engineer in orthopaedic implant development. Her engineering background and recent thesis research detailing the obstacles hindering biomedical engineers and technicians in low resource settings will be an asset as Medical Aid International further expands their online Biomedical Engineering Course across Sub-Sahara Africa.

As the daughter of a US military officer, Emily has lived and travelled around the world all the while bearing witness to a myriad of social and healthcare injustices which have inspired her dedication to global health. Likewise, Emily is passionate about female empowerment and has co-led three workshops with young women in Ethiopia with an American NGO. She is excited to be a member of the Medical Aid International team and eager to promote innovative healthcare solutions.

Let's work together.

One of the easiest ways we can make budgets go a long way is the sensible use of equipment no longer required in the West. This recycling is very effective. Please do contact us for further details if you think you have equipment of any sort that may help.
